Singing Voice Choir

You shattered my skin.
At night, I wonder
why I let you in.
Chicken skin,
made you win.
That game, I lost
and the cost was
happiness, paid with
despair.
I remember the to
and fro.
You’d leave,
I’d go.
And yet, and yet,
We stayed.
Five years of grief
unravelling threads
constant dread.

Clothes burnt in the fire;
I’m glad you did.
Hands choking
Singing-voice choir;
I’m glad you did.
Sad-boy crying to kill desire;
I’m glad you did.
Trashing the house
to make you feel higher;
of course you did.
